Enrico Leide

(1887 - 1970)

Maestro Leide was the Principal Conductor of the first Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, founded in 1920.  

 

He was a concert cellist, and Music Director of the Paramount Theater Orchestra in Atlanta. 

From 1939-1945 he served as the director of the Brenau Music Conservatory.

 

From 1947-1949 he conducted the NY Philharmonic, and also served as Principal Conductor of the American Symphony Orchestra until 1960.
